My birth name is James, but my preferred name is Jamie. I started dressing up in my three older sisters' clothes when I was about 10 years old and the feeling of it stuck with me throughout my life. Sometime around my 30's I started buying my own clothes and dressing in private. At some point in the '80s, I discovered that there were lots of guys like me. That's when I also discovered that there were publicly available magazines dedicated to crossdressing and transgender people. The magazines were "Transformation" and "Ladylike". This opened a whole new world of acceptance for me. So I started buying and reading those magazines. Then the internet happened and I found people like me and was able to communicate with them. That was wonderful! I finally felt somewhat normal, but I was still hiding it from family and friends. I just didn't think that I would be accepted that way. It wasn't until the news broke that Bruce Jenner was coming out as transgender and wanted to be known as Caitlyn. Caitlyn was 70 at the time and so was I. So, I decided then that I could safely to friends and family. Now I have purged my closet of all the male clothes that I had and filled it with women's clothes and I dress as Jamie 24/7. I not actively looking for a partner, but I am open to meet the right person for me. Maybe someday that will happen just by chance. I guess for now I'll just wait and see what the future holds for me.
